“Following my regular body combat class about 25 years ago, I suddenly experienced terrible back pain whilst in the middle of particularly tricky twisting and squatting movement. I’d never suffered with back pain before, but was in such agony, I could barely walk out of the class. Subsequently, I experienced regular ‘flare ups’ over the next few years and sought help from various chiropractors and physios, and even tried some massage treatments but with no real long-term success. 

 “It’s greatly impacted my life – I’ve had to take time off from work as driving could be particularly problematic and painful.  I’ve also missed out on many social events and struggled through on a number of holidays as a result of pain. At times I found this very upsetting and frustrating, especially as I felt I had exhausted all treatment options.

My back pain is now significantly reduced and any flare-ups are much less intense than before and I tend to recover from them in a matter of days rather than weeks.

“It’s really changed my life for the better – I can now look forward to holidays, social events and day-to-day life in general without the fear of debilitating back pain. I am also now doing strength training three times a week – something I never thought I could do with a ‘bad back’. I also wouldn’t have felt confident to do that without the Back in Shape advice and guidance – I now feel stronger than I have in years!”
